Pick up a brochure at the Visitor Information Centre, or download a copy below and follow this interesting and scenic self drive tour through the hallmarks of Narrabri including wide streets, a lush 18 hole golf course, bowling club with three greens, shady picnic areas and well kept gardens and sporting ovals.
The Aboriginal meaning of Narrabri (Forked Water) refers to the Namoi River and its tributary, Narrabri Creek, which splits the town in three. The Town Drive directs you through each of these sections, giving you a glimpse of the old, new, business, residential and recreational areas, with the brochure indicating points of interest along the way.
FAST FACT: Visitors often believe we have mixed up the signage, but it is indeed the Narrabri Creek which carries the main body of water through town, while the River only runs during times of flood. The two streams rejoin just west of Narrabri and head off towards the Darling River.
